-old in connection with an allegation of sexual assault. we get the developing news from ktvu's amber lee. she's live in the city with what we know about the alleged assault and some initial reaction, amber. >> reporter: ken, news that the 49 wide receiver is being investigated for sexual assault comes as a surprise to the 49 fans we spoke to here at momo's tonight. the 25-year-old is having what some would characterize a break out season after being drafted by the 49 in 2009. the alleged assault happened in a san francisco early last sunday just hours after the 4- 9ders played the packers. police did not name the hotel just a short while ago a spokesman for the police department told us investigators interviewed crabtree who had an attorney with him and said the football player was cooperative. >> at this point he has not been detained or arrested. to my knowledge he was on the plane with the rest of the 49ers today in atlanta ready to play the game on sunday. >> reporter: we found these 49er fans at momo's they told us they want more details before they jump to any conclusions. >> i think that's te
. ktvu alex savidge is there now with the latest on the woman and her fire damaged apartment. what do you know alex? >> reporter: we do know this woman was in very bad shape when firefighters pulled her out of that burning apartment. it's the second story unit here at this complex in hayward. you can see a lot of damage from the outside. this was an elderly woman who suffered from burns and smoke inhalation. after this fire started about 9:30 or so inside theout. we're right in her second and e street. crews on scene told us it was a fairly small kitchen fire to begin with. as crews made their way through the unit, they found this woman inside and she was unresponsive at the time. firefighters did say they were able to get a pulse on this woman once she was transported to the hospital. crews tell us this wasn't a large fire by any stretch that left this woman injured. >> we were able to extinguish the fire fairly quickly with an aggressive interior attack. we did find a victim within the home. they found him in the bedroom during a primary search. >> reporter: no one else aside from that

. ktvu's alex savage on the scene. >> reporter: good morning. we are learning this is a home less encampment on fire. it's near the park. if you have been out near this area, it's nearby great highway and balboa street. you can see the firefighters peg out the hot spot ins the area. there was a fair amount of trees in the area where the encampment is. as we pan to the left, about three homes were threatened. we will show you where the firefighters are putting out the fire. the fire broke out on a piece of private property and this has been a long time problem, this home less encampment. there have been apparently three fire ins the past nine months. >> there's been a problem with the home less people getting in the area. fire started this morning, went undetectived for a while until seen by the garbage company. the fire get into the juniper trees which take off easily. >> reporter: the flames looked pretty large when the fire firefighters got on the scene, but thankfully, they got it under control and they are making sure the fire is out in the area. steep terrain in the area. the

. that shooting happened at seminary and east 17th street last night shortly before 6:30. ktvu's alex savidge has been there since 4:30 this morning tells us police have been scouring the area for any signs of the suspects. alex? >> reporter: and good morning. i did just get off the phone a short time ago with a spokeswoman for the oakland police department who confirmed to me this is still a very active manhunt in the area. as i step out of the way, you can see the street is still blocked off. we're pushing you down seminary avenue. you can see the s.w.a.t. vehicle there. a number of others remain in the area trying to -- officer s remain there. they believe they have the suspects in the perimeter. they are still actively searching. the spokesperson said they've written search warrants to go inside homes as well. this began at 6:30 last night when an undercover police officer was shot and wounded during a stakeout operation. three gunmen were seen running off. police were able to take one of those men into custody. but two others escaped. throughout the night, officers were going through here wi
home game in nine months. >> complete bay area news coverage starts right now. this is ktvu mornings on 2. >> welcome to mornings on two. >> it's thursday january 24th. happening right now crews in marin are busy cleaning up after a big water main break. it was first reported shortly after two this morning. paul chambers first reporter on the scene and joins us now. its right near sir francis drake boulevard. >> reporter: access is really busy. this area is more residential but there are a lot of cars passing through. you can see the repair crews just arrived on scene with in the last five minutes. basically they are getting ready to do a lot of repairing. things are under control with the water main break but there will be a lot of clean up. let's look at video. this all started at 2:15 when the fire department got a call of water flooding a roadway. once on scene firefighters say the water was jetting out at least eight feet in the air. crews were able to get a handle on the situation by shutting off a nearby valve. it's unclear if someone hit a fire hydrant or if it just gave w
